Plywood backgrounds

The base of plywood for wickerwork is a material used for the manufacture of baskets and other wickerwork articles. These are thin sheets of wood such as poplar or birch, which are cut into circles or ovals to form the base of the basket. The plywood base is often preferred over solid wood because it is lighter, easier to work with and more resistant to water. It can be covered with fabric, paper or any other material to give the basket a more aesthetic look.
