Medium background

The medium base for wickerwork is a material used for the manufacture of baskets and other wickerwork articles. It is a sheet of compressed wood, usually light brown, which is cut into circles or ovals to form the base of the basket. The medium base is often preferred to solid wood because it is lighter, easier to work with and less prone to deformation. It can be covered with fabric, paper or any other material to give the basket a more aesthetic look
